Celtic Cultural Alliance Scholarships

The mission of Celtic Cultural Alliance is to promote and preserve the Celtic culture through educational workshops, musical presentations, and traditional competitions in athletics, piping and dance. In support of this mission, each year scholarships are awarded to students studying Celtic music, dance or art or volunteering at the Celtic Classic Highland Games & Festival.

VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIP

CCA is encouraging high school students to learn about Celtic culture and gain useful volunteer experience in the community, Celtic Cultural Alliance will be awarding one $500 scholarship to one high school student who has volunteered at Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival for at least one Celtic Classic festival.

  • Applicants must fill out an application that describes their volunteer experience.
  • The $500 scholarship is to be applied towards higher education expenses.
  • Students must register for volunteering through the volunteer data base.
  • Students must volunteer for 12 hours at the Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival or other CCA events.  Hours from multiple years may be combined.
  • Hours worked during set up, or with a CCA committee, may be applied.
  • Students must be in grades 9-12 during the 2023 – 2024 school year.
  • Immediate family members of employees or Board members of Celtic Cultural Alliance are ineligible to receive scholarships.
  • Volunteer Scholarship applications must be received by December 31, 2023 at 4:00pm.
  • A winner will be chosen by February 1st, 2023.

 

In 2023, the Celtic Cultural Alliance will award up to several thousand dollars in cultural scholarships. Each of the scholarship awards will be presented at the 2023 Celtic Classic, on September 23rd.

2023 Cultural Scholarship Program

  • The scholarship opportunity is for students aged 8 to 18 as of September 1, 2023.
  • All dance applicants must be enrolled in a dance school program or organization.
  • All music applicants must be taking private or school lessons in a Celtic instrument.
  • All fine arts applicants must be taking art lessons in an area of Celtic fine art.
  • Instructors must be listed on the form because we may contact them to verify enrollment of scholarship applications.
  • The Celtic Cultural Alliance Board of Directors will serve as the selection committee to choose the scholarship winners.
  • The selection of the recipient will not be based on financial need but on commitment to the Celtic dance, music and/or the fine arts, and the desire to continue their study.
  • Immediate family members of employees or Board members of Celtic Cultural Alliance are ineligible to apply for or receive scholarships.
  • The recipients of the scholarship may be asked to provide a performance at future Celtic Cultural Alliance events.
  • The Scholarship winners will be notified by August 1, 2023.  Only Winners will be notified
  • Applications of previous winners of the scholarship will not be accepted.

The application form and essay must be completed, signed, and received by June 30, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. to be considered for the scholarship.
